NordPass

Ich hab (so ziemlich) alle durch… und zum Schluss bin ich bei NordPass gelandet. Für mich persönlich der Beste von allen, danach Apples interne Lösung. Warum, alles, überall und immer. Egal ob PC, iPad, iPhone oder wo auch sonst, NordPass ist immer dabei und funktioniert. Passwörter, Passkeys und was auch sonst noch alles geht, es funktioniert. Es ist nicht der günstigste, auch wenn kostenfrei geht, aber ich nutze es mit meiner Frau und auch Sie kommt damit zurecht. Ich bin überzeugt und werde bleiben. Weiter so.

Ich nutze VPN mittlerweile seit 2 Jahren und es funktioniert alles wunderbar. Mit Handy nur einmal Fingerabdruck oder Masterpasswort und schon sind alle Passwörter parat. Keins mehr selber ausdenken und überall total andere und total sichere Passwörter benutzen. Alles voll easy!

App hat nicht: - Kopierfunktion für Einträge - Vorlagenerstellung oder eigene Vorlagen, z. B. für Anmeldungen im Internet, Apps, E-Mail-Accounts etc. - Speicherung ohne Cloud auf dem Mobile Daher nicht sonderlich funktionabel und umständlich. Bedauerlich, denn das Programm hätte Potenzial.

Eigentlich absolut zufrieden, aber es gibt ein großes Problem: Die App ist NUR online verwendbar, was für einen Passwortmanager gar nicht geht. Falls einem unterwegs die Daten leer gehen hat man keine Möglichkeit an seine Passwörter zu kommen, der einzig große Nachteil zu anderen Apps wie Google Passwort Manager. Speichert wichtige Passwörter also ungebedingt doppelt. Daher -1 Stern.

Auto fill helps entering username and password. User defined fields allow you to add some extra information for each account. Besides classical use credentials NordPass can also handle Passkeys. Nice. Unfortunately NordPass cannot provide TOTP. So for 2FA you need an extra Authenticator app. This is annoying once you forget you phone at home and you want to login into an account with 2FA. See below why I think NordPass has a few flaws in general. On windows (with Firefox plugin) you have to login every time you open your browser. At least the primary password needs to be entered manually - or you can use a one time code when you have access to you emails. The second authentication step (master password) works well with biometrics. Why? Why can you not login with biometrics only on a trusted device? Just like on your iPhone. Now let’s assume you are with a friend and you forgot your iPhone. Your friend allows you use their device for some online purchase at your favorite shop. Either you have week primary and master passwords for NordPass or you will get NO access to your passwords. It would be very helpful when you could use password less login with your FIDO2 token that resides on your keyring. But no. NordPass allows hardware tokens for MFA only, but not for password less login. And if your favorite shop requires TOTP your completely lost while traveling without your personal iPhone. This is especially frustrating when you consider that NordPass is a member of the FIDO Alliance since 2022. Yet they did not implement FIDO2 features into their own products within three years. Besides the flaws with login on Firefox or on foreign devices, I really do not want to live online without a password manager. It really, really help to keep your accounts safe. You can use different complex passwords for dozens of accounts. With mail masking you can as well create anonymous accounts or multiple accounts on some services without the need for additional mail addresses. So yes, I would recommend using a password manager and NordPass does a decent job. With TOTP support and password less login it would come close to perfection.

Macht keinen Sinn wenn ich alles selber eingeben muss anstatt einfach importieren zu können. Das man dafür auch einen PC benötigen soll ist dafür noch unpassender. Warum kann man nicht einfach das aus seinem Schlüsselbund importieren auf dem IPhone. Ohne dieses Feature nur nervig.
